If you have not yet given a donation, no matter the size, please consider doing so. The people of Haiti didn't have much to begin with, and after a deadly earthquake and a horrific aftershock that was equally as devastating, they have even less.
There are many ways to donate. If you live outside of the USA go to hopeforhaitinow.org
You can even text "GIVE" to 50555 and have $10 added to your phone bill.
Or visit Red Cross or Doctors Without Borders or Partners in Health.
Unless you have gone through a natural disaster yourself you can't even begin to imagine what it is like- sleeping outside, bathing in the streets, not knowing when or if things will get better...
For all of my friends who have family in Haiti, or who have lost family in Haiti, you have my deepest condolences and sympathy. I hope for a speedy recovery that not only strengthens the people of Haiti, but Haiti itself. Haiti will rise from the ashes like the Phoenix and will be better than ever.
Please give if you have not yet already. Anything will help.
If you have given, your donations are tremendously appreciated. Please consider giving again.
Skip a movie. Don't eat out this weekend. Forget about a mani/pedi. Instead, think about all the good that you can do with just $5, $10, $20. Please give.
The amazing success that viral networking has had for raising money is tremendous! In one day over $1 million was raised on social sites like Twitter and Facebook. Share a similar status in your status bars- spread the word- and don't let this horrible act of nature be forgotten by Monday, because while you and I will wake up on Monday morning and drag our feet to work, the people of Haiti won't have that leisure.
